IIT Delhi celebrated its 51st Foundation Day anniversary on 27th January 2010. Prof. MGK Menon was the Chief Guest and Prof. R.C. Malhotra was the Guest of Honour. In the Dogra Hall, the programme started with a prayer. Prof. Surendra Prasad addressed the audience. He welcomed all and highlighted the achievements of the Institute in the 50th year of foundation. Prof. MGK Menon stressed the need of fundamental research. He cited examples of great personalities like Pandit Jwahar Lal Nehru, J.C. Bose, Homi Bhabha, JRD Tata etc. ..... more

Dr. Horst Koehler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany along with Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon’ble Minister of Science & Technology, Government of India inaugurated the Indo-German Max Planck Centre for Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on 3rd February 2010. Dr. T Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Prof. Peter Gruss, President Max Planck Society, Germany and other delegates from Germany attended the inauguration function. The inauguration ceremony took place in the Senate Room of IIT Delhi. The programme started with a welcome note by Prof. Surendra Prasad, Director, IIT Delhi.
