40th convocation of IIT Delhi was held on 8th-9th August 2009. Shri Kapil Sibal, the Hon'ble Minister for Human Resource Development, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on 8th August 2009 and Dr. G.Madhavan Nair, the Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization, was the Chief Guest on 9th August 2009. A total of 1419 degrees were awarded in the convocation which included B.Tech. - 398, five year Dual Degree (M.Tech and B.Tech) - 97, five year integrated M.Tech in Maths & Computing - 29, M.Tech. - 521, M.Sc. - 77, M.S. (Research) – 13, M.Des. – 14, MBA – 48, Ph.D. – 181, DIIT – 19 & PG Diploma (Metro Rail Transport) - 22. Four alumni were honoured with Distinguished Alumni Awards on this occasion....more

The Centre for Applied Research in Electronics was established in 1971 with the main objective of providing focus to coordinated research and training in specialized areas in Electronics. Since its inception, the Centre has concentrated its R&D programs in three specific areas of Applied Electronics namely, Microwaves, Signal Processing and Microelectronics. The Centre has completed several major sponsored projects in these areas leading to technology development, know-how transfer to user agencies and national recognition. Emphasis on technology development has lead to the creation of infrastructure that offers the necessary base for advanced and contemporary experimental research.... more
