Alumnus Ashok Mrig (B.Tech. Mechanical 1988) has set up "Budhwanti Mrig Memorial Educational Scholarships" at IIT Delhi. An MoU was signed between Bhudhwanti Education & Research Foundation and IIT Delhi for instituting the scholarships on March 23, 2010. The scholarships will be awarded to two 1st year girl students of UG (B.Tech., Dual Degree, Integrated M.Tech.) programmes admitted through JEE on merit-cum-means basis. The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 25000 per semester per student and the scholarship of the student will continue for the first eigth registered semesters of the study at the Institute provided the student obtains a minmum SGPA of 7.0 in the previous semester.
